Being upfront about pricing

We want to be upfront about our plan pricing so you know what to expect and when.

Our mobile plans include an annual price review and may increase by the Consumer Price Index (also known as CPI) in July each year.

For new customers, the latest plan pricing reflects an increase in line with CPI. For existing customers, we’ll contact you to let you know about these changes.

Who sets the CPI rate?

CPI is detailed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). We’ll use the CPI rate released by ABS for the 12 months to the March quarter and any increase will be rounded to the nearest dollar.

Our mobile plans are 100% carbon neutral as certified by Climate Active at no extra cost to you. Our Carbon Neutral certification applies only to mobile plans and not your mobile device.

Capped 4G and 5G speeds

Download speeds for included data are capped at 250Mbps on our 4G and 5G network rolling out from August.

How to access 5G

Our 5G network now reaches over 75% of Australians. To access 5G, you’ll need a 5G compatible device in a 5G coverage area. See if 5G is in your area, use our 5G coverage checker .

Network speed

Speeds may vary due to factors such as location, distance from the base station, local conditions, concurrent users, hardware and software configuration and download/upload destination.

No excess data charges.

If you exceed your included data allowance, you won’t be charged extra but your speed will be capped at 1.5Mbps, and slowed further in busy periods. This isn’t suitable for HD video or high-speed applications and means that some webpages, videos, social media content and files may take longer to load. However, you can still stream video in standard definition, listen to music, browse the web and access social media, even if the experience is slower sometimes. Heavy data users (users in the top 1% of all data users) may experience slower speeds than other users during busy periods.

What are bundle plans?

Bundle plans are a great way to save money and get everyone in the family connected. There are two kinds of bundle plans available: Mobile bundle plans and Data bundle plans.

Mobile bundle plans

Mobile bundle plans let you add family members’ phones to your account and enjoy access to a data allowance with uncapped download speeds on Australia’s best network.

Data bundle plans

Data bundle plans are ideal for tablets or mobile broadband devices. They’re great for studying, travelling and entertaining kids.

Telstra Plus Market points offer

Telstra Plus Market business members who take up an Essential or Premium mobile plan before 30 June 2023 can claim bonus Telstra Plus points to put towards their Telstra Plus Market offers.

• If you take up an Essential Mobile plan, you’ll receive 5,000 bonus points per month for up to 12 months
• If you take up a Premium Mobile plan, you’ll receive 10,000 bonus points per month for up to 12 months.

Things you need to know

Points must be used for Market offers within the month they are received, or they will expire.

If you cancel your Telstra Plus Market business membership or change to an ineligible plan, you’ll no longer receive points.  If you switch from one eligible plan to another within the 12-month offer period, you’ll receive the number of bonus points applicable to the plan that you’re on during that month.

Once you’ve taken up an eligible mobile plan and joined Telstra Plus Market, your points will start appearing in your Market account by the second month of your membership.
